Through a “Discovery-Confirmation-Practice”-based exploration of key concepts, students are challenged to work toward a mastery of computational skills, to deepen their understanding of key ideas and solution strategies, and to extend their knowledge in a variety of problem-solving applications. Students are supported in comprehending academic math content by accessible text as well as audio and geographical representations of terms.

Within each lesson, students are supplied with a scaffolded note-taking guide as well as a post-study Checkup activity that provides them the opportunity to hone their computational skills by working through a low-stakes problem set before moving on to a formal assessment. Unit-level assessments include a computer-scored test and a scaffolded, teacher-scored test.

Including general studies, elective, and Advanced Placement (AP)* topics, Apex Learning offers a full high school catalog of comprehensive mathematics courses. All mathematics courses are developed based on the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) standards and are aligned with state standards, and Common Core courses are aligned with the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics.

*AP courses have been authorized by the College Board.
